Stem Cell Therapy

22 years of experience
and Cutting-edge regenerative medicine.

Regenerative Medicine
at Azabu Skin Clinic

At Azabu Skin Clinic’s Regenerative Medicine Department, we carefully select evidence-based treatments and provide cutting-edge regenerative medicine tailored to each individual’s needs. We follow a comprehensive and innovative approach to medical care that is not bound by conventional practices.

Our license for stem cell therapy, bearing the number NA8160006, has received approval from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

In stem cell therapy, the patient's adipose tissue (fat tissue) is harvested and the stem cells within it are cultured. These cultured stem cells are then administered into the body, typically through methods like intravenous infusion, with the aim of regenerating bodily functions and significantly enhancing physiological capabilities. Stem cells possess the ability to self-renew and differentiate into various cell types, thereby raising expectations for the recovery of bodily functions. Moreover, they exhibit a function known as "homing," which involves targeting and repairing damaged areas within the body. Stem cells secrete numerous growth factors and cytokines, which can help to suppress inflammation, alleviate pain, and potentially contribute to rejuvenation effects.

Regenerative medicine utilizing stem cells Undergoes a rigorous examination of its treatment validity, safety, physician infrastructure/framework, and cell processing management system by the Committee for Specific Authorization of Regenerative Medicine, a regulatory body recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. If the aforementioned criteria are deemed appropriate, a treatment plan can be submitted to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for approval, and be granted permission to conduct regenerative medicine treatments.

Our clinic has obtained the Type II Regenerative Medicine Provisional Plan Number NA8160006

Characteristics of stem cells:

1. Self-replication ability: Stem cells have the capacity to divide into and generate identical copies of themselves.
2. Differentiation ability: Stem cells have the ability to differentiate into various types of cells different from themselves, such as bone, blood vessels, skin, and nerves.

Main Characteristics of Stem Cells:

・Potential for Improving Mitochondrial Function
・Regeneration and Repair of Damaged Cells and Organs
・Prevention of Symptoms of Chronic Pain
・Enhancement of Physical Performance
・Anticipated Effects on Health Promotion and Aesthetics

Items that can be expected to be effective:

Stroke, spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve disorder, chronic pain, knee osteoarthritis, arthritis, atopic dermatitis, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, autoimmune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus), Female, menopause disorders, male andropause disorders, anti-aging interventions (including rejuvenation of the skin and blood vessels), and post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 infection.

Our Treatments

Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell therapy is a treatment method that involves the extraction of adipose tissue-derived stem cells from patients, culturing them, and administering them back into the body through intravenous or Intravenous drip to regenerate the body’s functions. It holds the potential to repair and regenerate damaged tissues and improve health and beauty concerns caused by aging, among other benefits.

NK Cell Therapy

Natural Killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can detect and attack cancer and virus-infected cells within the body, and play a crucial role in the body’s innate immune system. In NK cell therapy, NK cells extracted from the patient’s blood are cultured and multiplied to strengthen their ability to attack cancer cells and viruses, and then reintroduced intravenously to the patient’s body.

Exosome Therapy

Exosomes are small vesicles composed of a lipid bilayer that are secreted from cells. They are believed to play a crucial role in intercellular communication and information transfer between organs within the human body. It has been confirmed that exosomes are secreted by various cell types. Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells release a variety of growth factors and exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. They also Hold the potential for anti-aging, disease prevention, and improving symptoms related to male and female menopause.

SVF Therapy

SVF therapy involves the injection of stem cells extracted from the patient's own adipose tissue (fat) into localized areas. This procedure holds the potential for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects, as well as regenerative benefits. When administered to the face and scalp, it can exhibit rejuvenating and regenerative effects. The process of obtaining adipose tissue and performing stem cell therapy can be completed in a short period of time, allowing for a relatively quick procedure.

Immunocytes:

Immunocytes patrol inside the body every day, swiftly identifying and attacking abnormal cells, such as cancer cells or cells infected by external viruses. They do not let these cells escape. The reason you have been able to live a healthy life until today is because these immune cells in your body are extremely resilient and dedicated fighters. However, when living a stressful life or as we age, our immune cells can rapidly decline. This decline in immune cells can become a significant cause of serious illnesses. Maintaining the immune system is the key to maintaining good health.

Treatment Flow

1. Consultation

First, we will thoroughly listen to your wishes and preferences. Then, the doctor will explain the purpose of regenerative medicine, treatment details, safety considerations, and any other relevant information, as well as making a Diagnosis of your condition.

2. Pre-treatment blood test (infection testing)

At the Cell Processing Facility (CPF), adipose-derived stem cells are isolated and cultured under strict supervision. The cultivation period required to obtain the necessary number of cells for the initial treatment is approximately four weeks.

3. Fat harvesting:

A small amount of fat tissue will be extracted subcutaneously in the desired area. Fat is harvested through a small incision, resulting in minimal visible scarring.

4. Stem cell cultivation:

The harvested fat is promptly sent to our cell culture processing facility, where cultivation begins. Cell cultivation and processing are conducted in a safety cabinet within a positively pressurized cleanroom.

Regarding cultivation:

The harvested fat undergoes aseptic processing. After separating fat-derived stem cells through enzyme treatment, they are cultured in a culture vessel for approximately four weeks until the optimal number of cells suitable for the treatment are secured. No animal-derived components are used during cultivation. Subsequently, a certain number of cells are collected and tested to assess for cell count, viability, and quality. Once they are confirmed to be from the patient themselves, and after completion of various tests and the assessment of said test results, the cells are sent to the clinic for treatment use.

5. Administration:

The stem cells cultured for approximately four weeks are administered through an intravenous drip over a period of about one hour. It is recommended to bank the cultured stem cells and continue with ongoing administrations.

6. Follow-up

After administering the cultured stem cells, regular check-ups are conducted to monitor any changes in your condition. Based on the results, we will provide and support regarding future treatment plans.
