Adrenal Fatigue
What is adrenal fatigue?
The adrenal glands are located at the top of each kidney. Their purpose is to secrete various hormones, such as cortisol, aldosterone and adrenalin, which are essential for bodily functions. One of the most important hormones is cortisol. This hormone helps to regulate blood pressure and raise the blood sugar to provide energy, thus helping the body to deal with stress. Adrenal disorders, where the adrenalin glands don't function properly, eventually end up causing adrenal fatigue.

What is the cause of adrenal fatigue?
Cortisol is secreted when one feels stressed. If you are under intense stress, extra cortisol is released to help the body to respond appropriately. But if your stress level remains high for long periods of time and the cortisol level stays high, the adrenal glands become impaired and fail to secret a sufficient amount of cortisol.
