Liposuction is a medical cosmetic procedure that removes stubborn and unwanted fat. When you gain weight, the size and volume of the fat increases. Liposuction is usually done if diet and exercise do not seem to work or if a person has poor lifestyle.
Liposuction reduces the size and volume of fat in a specific area. If not removed, these fat will
eventually be harmful as they secrete a substance that is responsible for causing inflammation in the surrounding area. The amount of fat removed through liposuction depends on the appearance of the area and the volume of fat.
A plastic or dermatologic surgeon usually does the procedure to improve the problematic area.
This procedure suits those who wish to change and enhance the contour of their body. The resulting contour changes are generally permanent — as long as your weight remains stable.
The following body areas are commonly targeted for liposuction treatment:

- abdomen
- back
- buttocks
- around knees
- hips
- flanks (love handles)
- area under the chin
- thighs, both "saddlebags" or outer thighs, and inner thighs
- upper arms

Autologous Fat Transfer (Fat Grafting)

What is Autologous Fat Transfer?
Autologous fat transfer is the removal of ones own fat from one area and the transfer to another area. It can be performed on any area in the body and can be used in combination with many other procedures.
Who Is It Suitable For?
For those of normal stable body weight who have an area that would benefit volume enhancement.
What Are The Preparations For The Surgery?
You should ideally stop smoking 6 weeks prior surgery and stop taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements before surgery. It is important that you contact us prior to actual surgery if anything changes with your health.
How Much Does Autologous Fat Transfer Cost?
This depends on what is needed, so may vary from patient to patient. After discussing your surgery in the initial consultation, the Clinic Manager will beable to provide you with an estimated quote of the treatment. Ongoing campaigns and discounts will also be discussed, if applicable.
During Surgery
Autologous fat transfer usually takes between 1 and 2 hours. Anaesthesia is applied in the area where fat is to be removed from and a small incision is made close to the area where the fat needs to be removed. A cannula is used to remove the fat.
Once the fat has been removed the small incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches. The fat is then prepared in order to make sure the best quality fat can be used. Anesthesia is applied in the area where the fat will be injected and a small
After Surgery incision is made. The highest quality fat is then injected into the area requiring volume enhancement.
After Surgery
You will be able to mobilize straight away after surgery because of the local anesthesia. There will be no drains in place or any medical instrument attached to you. You will be able to drink and eat as usual. You will feel swollen and have generalized discomfort that will usually require medication that will be provided and given to you before going home. You will be able to go home the same day as the surgery and should keep the wounds dry for the next week. You will be able to resume light exercises after a week and normal exercise by 1-2 weeks. Swelling and bruising in the treated areas are common and can be expected after treatment. You should begin massaging the treated area once wounds are healed.
