What is Botox®

Botox® injection .
Botox® was originally developed for the treatment of blepharospasm and strabismus. Ever since it was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1989,it has been used safely for the treatment of wrinkles, hyperhidrosis of armpit and hands, and stiffness of shoulders

How it works
Botox® blocks release of the acetylcholine transmitter.It temporarily paralyzes the muscle of the affected area and makes wrinkles less visible.

What to expect after the procedure
Botox® will start active in the treated area in 3 to 4 days.

Do not apply a makeup on the treated area on the day of the proce dure. You can wear a regular makeup from the next day.

Do not massage or scrub the treated area when you wash your face.

Do not drink alcohol, take a bath, exercise, or take aspirin on the treated area.

Protect the treated area from the sun because the exposure to the sunlight may cause darkening of the spot. The needle mark will disappear within a few days.

Swelling around eyes, ptosis of eyebrow, or sagging of upper eyelids may occure when Botox® is injection on the forehead or glabellar line. The severily of these symptoms depends on individuals, but the symptoms normally disappear within a week to a month.

When you take the Botox® injection for the treatment of hidrosis of armpit, sweating from the treated area will decrease, but there will be no reduction in odor.

In some cases, the treatment would lose its effectiveness after the second shot due to building of the antibody against Botox®.

Avoid pregnancy for a few months following the Botox® injection.

If you are women, avoid pregnancy until the end of the 2nd period after the procedure.

If you are men, take a birth control measure for 3 months after the procedure.

If you suffered from the botulinus related food poisoning

If you are minor

please inform our staff if you are presently taking the following medications; antibiotics, minor tranquilizer, antidepressant, and anticholine drug.

Dear Reader,

On behalf of Azabu Skin Clinic, thank you for your time and interest in visiting our website.

The first step in solving skin problems is to find out the cause. Conducting the therapy and treatment which are most suitable for the cause and symptoms of a problem is the “shortcut for beautiful skin.” Like most women, I used to have skin problems. Hence, I would like to recover your skin’s own beauty as effectively as possible based on my own experience.

I became a Dermatologist after graduating from Tokyo Medical University. When I was still starting, I had the opportunity to work with and learn from the best mentors in the field of Dermatology. Their clinics were mostly located in the Tokyo Metropolitan and Kansai areas where a lot of patients with dermatological problems came in daily. The feeling of being able to help them solve their dermatological problems and be able to bring back their self-confidence was so rewarding and fulfilling. Hence, I decided to go a step further by establishing a clinic that would not only help the Japanese people but also the foreigners staying in Japan ― most of whom are having a hard time seeking professional help in the English vernacular.

Aside from participating in domestic conferences, I also actively participate in overseas conferences such as those held by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). Attending and participating in these conferences enables me to continuously integrate the latest techniques and modern treatments into my practice.

Having a clinic located in the metropolis of Tokyo allows me to see and interact with patients from all over the world. The time that I spend with my patients, most of whom are foreigners, enables me to examine and be immersed in the different kinds of skin types and the problems that they are facing.

DR. CHIE HIRABE

After graduating from Toyoma Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Dr. Hirabe became a member of the faculty of the Department of Dermatology at Kyushu University Hospital. Later on, she moved to the Fukuoka Hospital of the National Hospital Organization.

She has also accumulated vast experience working with the Federation of National Public Service and Affiliated Personnel Mutual Aid Association, Hamano-machi Hospital, and many other notable institutions. Dr. Hirabe has been with the Medical Team of Azabu Skin Clinic since 2008.
